Rules and terms
How it works
Four simple steps
Play level by level
Every game has 10 levels. Get 70% right to open the next one. Higher levels give more points, and 3 or more right in a row earn a combo bonus.
Play regularly
Play at least 10 times for 10 minutes or more, on at least 5 different days.
Climb the board
Play Melitalia Challenge: 10 levels, and every level has every game. Your score is your best try at each level, added up.
Win a scholarship
The top 3 players who meet the rules win a Melitalia study scholarship.
Who can win
What you need to win
To win a scholarship you must:
- live in Italy (people outside Italy can play, but cannot win prizes);
- be learning Italian — people whose first language is Italian can play, but cannot win prizes;
- play at least 10 times for 10 minutes or more, on at least 5 different days;
- give true details. A prize can be cancelled if the details are false.
👥 Inviting friends
Invite friends to learn Italian with you — earn points and badges when they start playing! Playing is how you win the scholarship; inviting friends does not change your score or your chances.
Prizes
Melitalia study scholarships
1st place
🎓 4 months of free classes
2nd place
🎓 3 months of free classes
3rd place
🎓 2 months of free classes
There are two boards: adults, and kids (under 18). On each board the scholarships go to the 3 highest scores among players who meet all the rules; if a top scorer does not, the place passes to the next best score. One scholarship per family on each board. Your score is your best try at each Melitalia Challenge level, added up. If two scores are equal, more answers right wins, then the shorter time.
The free months can be given to a family member or friend. They must be used by starting classes before 31 March 2027.
Free months are used like this: 1 month at the start of the course, and the rest at the end of the course.

Fair play
- One free account per WhatsApp number or email. One scholarship per family on each board.
- Only play counts towards the ranking. Points and badges for inviting friends never change it.
- Fake or duplicate accounts are removed and can cost a prize.
- Only play between Mon 19 Oct 00:00 and Sun 1 Nov 2026 23:59 (Italian time) counts.
- Our team checks the winners (a call and an ID check) before prizes are given.
- Players under 18 need a parent's permission.
- Equal scores: more answers right wins; if still equal, the shorter total time.
Rules and terms
- The challenge is run by Accademia Melitalia. Taking part is free.
- Only play inside the challenge dates counts. The challenge ends on 1 November 2026 (Italian time). Melitalia may extend the dates; any change is shown on this page.
- The ranking is made from game play only, in Melitalia Challenge: the same 10 levels for everyone, and every level is made of every game. Each player's best try at each level is added together; there are 3 tries per level each day. If scores are equal, the player with more answers right wins, then the one with the shorter total time. Free games, rooms, invites and streaks earn points and badges, which have no value and never change the ranking or the prizes.
- There are two boards with their own scholarships: adults, and kids (under 18). A family (one games account with its children, or one student) can win at most one scholarship on each board.
- Only people who live in Italy and whose first language is not Italian can win. Everyone else can play.
- Every player who wants to win must play at least 10 sessions of 10 minutes or more, on at least 5 different days. A session ends when there is no answer for 5 minutes.
- The prizes are Melitalia study scholarships: months of free classes. They are not paid in cash and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Free months can be given to a family member or friend. Whoever uses them must start classes with Melitalia before 31 March 2027. After that date they expire.
- Winners are contacted by WhatsApp and must confirm their identity. If a winner cannot be reached within 14 days, or their details are false, the prize passes to the next eligible player.
- Players under 18 need a parent's permission. A parent decides whether the child's full name is shown.
- Your name is hidden on the public leaderboard (for example "K***n P.") unless you choose to show it.
- Free months are used like this: 1 month at the start of the course, and the rest at the end of the course.
