Why Melissa built this — and why that matters for your child
Melissa grew up going through the Italian school system herself. She sat the same examinations,
studied the same subjects, and lived the same pressures that every student in Italy faces.
Because of that, she understands — better than almost anyone — how overwhelming it must feel for
a child to arrive from Sri Lanka and be expected to keep up with everything in a language they
do not yet speak.
She did not build Accademia Melitalia as a generic language institute. She built it as a
specific
solution for Sri Lankan families — one that takes the real demands of Italian schools
seriously
and gives children the tools they actually need, explained in the way they actually think.
Today she leads a team of qualified Italian national teachers, running the academy at a
professional, institutional level.
