Do I need any Italian to join the adults course?

No. The course is designed for complete beginners. We start from the alphabet, correct pronunciation, and the very first building blocks of the language.

How much does the adults Italian course cost?

The monthly fee is €59.00 (€48.36 + VAT 22%). Your first month costs €107.80 total (€59.00 tuition + €48.80 [€40 + VAT 22%] textbook). From the second month onward, you only pay €59.00 per month.

Are the first two classes free? Is the course free?

This is a paid ten-month course. You simply do not have to pay before seeing it — you are welcome at the first two sessions with nothing to pay first. If you decide to continue, you pay the first month's fee and confirm your seat, and the two sessions you attended are covered by that first month. If it does not suit you, you can stop there and nothing is owed.

When is the certificate issued? Can I get a letter during the course?

There are three moments. (1) Before the course starts: if you have paid and confirmed your seat, we can issue a letter stating that you are registered for a course that has not yet started. (2) During the course: an Attestato di Partecipazione stating the course start date, the end date and the days you have attended; your class fees must be paid with nothing outstanding at the time of the request, and only days you genuinely attended are listed. (3) At the end of the course: the full Attestato di Partecipazione, showing the days you attended and how much of the total class days that represents. Attendance, participation and recorded-lesson watch hours are tracked by our system and app, so attendance that did not happen can never be added.

How are the classes held?

All lessons take place live via Zoom, once a week for 2.5 hours. You receive your Zoom link through WhatsApp and the app one hour before each class. In addition, the Knowledge Sharing Sessions — held twice a week or more as students ask for them — run on our own online interactive web platform, which needs nothing more than a browser.

What level will I reach after the course?

You will reach A2 level in 10 months. Those who wish to continue can progress to B1 — the level required for many Italian residency and citizenship applications.

Is the certificate valid for legal or official use?

Yes. The Attestato di Partecipazione issued by Accademia Melitalia is accepted for legal documentation, Refugee Commission submissions, and employment purposes in Italy.

In the 7th month, students who have attended classes consistently will receive an additional activity book delivered free of charge to their home.
This valuable activity book will greatly help you practise and revise the lessons you have learned throughout the course. It also helps you prepare for the Italian A2 exam, and makes solid preparation for the B1 class if you decide to continue to that level.

How a seat is confirmed

Nothing to pay for the first two sessions. A seat is confirmed by payment.

So that nothing comes as a surprise, here is exactly what happens between registering and the first lesson — in three steps.

Register — your name is recorded in the order you registered

The moment you send the form, your name joins the list for the group you chose, in the order it arrived. We then contact you on WhatsApp before the course begins.

Come to the first two sessions and see for yourself

There is nothing to pay first. Join the first two sessions, meet the teacher and the group, and see how we teach. Whether you continue is then your decision.

If you want to continue, pay and confirm your seat

The first month's fee covers the two sessions you already attended. Your seat in the group becomes yours only once that payment is made, and your book is posted at the same time.

What happens if the group fills up?

We take a limited number of students into each group. Once that number is reached by students who have paid and confirmed their seats, we close new registrations for that group.

If you registered but have not paid yet, we will message you straight away to say your name has moved to the waiting list. You are still welcome at the first two sessions.

If you receive that message, please do not make a payment. We will come back to you ourselves when the time is right.

If a student leaves and a seat frees up, it is offered to the waiting list in the order people registered.

And if no seat frees up, the waiting list is given priority when the next group starts. You are not forgotten.

So what is easiest for you? If you already know us and have decided to go ahead, confirming your seat early means you join the group on the day you actually chose, and your book reaches you close to the start of classes — delivery takes 10 to 14 days, so it is worth keeping in mind. And if you have not decided yet, there is no rush at all — come to the first two sessions and decide afterwards.

How certificates are issued — three moments

What you receive depends on when you need it: before the course starts, during the course, or at the end. It helps to know this in advance.

Before the course starts — a letter confirming your registration

If you need a document before the course begins, we will issue a letter stating that you are registered for a course that has not yet started. This is available only to students who have already paid the course fee and confirmed their seat.

During the course — the Attestato di Partecipazione

If you need a letter while the course is running, it states the course start date, the end date and the days you have attended. At the time of the request your class fees must be paid with nothing outstanding. We list only the days you genuinely attended — under no circumstances can we add attendance that did not happen.

At the end of the course — the full Attestato di Partecipazione

When the course finishes you receive the official Attestato di Partecipazione. It shows the days you attended, and how much of the total class days that represents.

Whether you joined each session, how actively you took part, and even the hours you spend watching the recorded lessons in the Accademia Melitalia App are all recorded automatically. Attend your class every week

Regular attendance is the single biggest factor in how fast you progress. If you miss a lesson, watch the recording through the app — but try not to make it a habit.

Complete the quizzes after each lesson

Each week you will receive a short quiz and practice exercise. These take only a few minutes, but they make a significant difference to how much you retain and how quickly you improve.

Use the app every day, even for just a few minutes

The Daily Dose feature sends you a short lesson or vocabulary exercise each morning. Spending five minutes with it every day keeps Italian active in your mind between weekly classes.
